Eizo Europe AB (”EIZO) are amongst the first three Monitor manufacturers to be certified in accordance with TCO Development’s new label for multi-functional monitors and TVs, TCO’06 Media Displays. The new label is the latest in TCO Development’s world-leading quality and environmental labeling program, and is a response in live picture usage both at the office and home.

Live pictures are becoming increasingly popular in many different industries. Animated graphics, educational videos and video conferences at the office, video in retail, 3-D animations in industry and digital x-rays healthcare are just a few examples. TCO’06 Media Displays is the first label that also includes TVs. Labeling is based on TCO Development’s 20-year’s experience in monitor certification, and has been adapted to the specific demands for moving images.
Features of TCO’06 Media Displays include ergonomics, e.g. picture quality and color rendering, energy consumption in standby position, emission, i.e. electrical and magnetic fields and ecology, e.g. how the monitor is prepared for recycling.
“Applications with live pictures are growing substantially, and we see an increase in demand, especially in industry and healthcare settings. To be able to work with designs and animations in 3-D, and to be able to make diagnoses directly on the monitor facilitate work enormously. At the same rate that usage is increasing, it is important that products are also positive from the perspective of working environment, which labeling guarantees”, says Per Hertz, Product Manager Eizo Europe AB
