Eizo Europe AB (“EIZO”) today introduced the FlexScan M1700 17-inch LCD monitor for corporate and administrative facilities. Equipped with built-in speakers, five imaging modes, and an industry-leading five-year warranty, the FlexScan M1700 offers back offices and government facilities a versatile and reliable product at a low total cost of ownership.

From text and spreadsheet applications to web browsing, the FlexScan M1700 is ideal for a wide range of office applications. It has a 1280 × 1024 native resolution, horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 160° and 150° respectively (at a contrast ratio of 5:1), brightness of 300 cd/m², and contrast ratio of 700:1. DVI-D and D-Sub input terminals accept digital and analog signals. For multimedia applications, dual one-watt speakers are built into the cabinet. Volume and mute controls are available in the OSD menu, and a headphone jack is included.

The cabinet is slim and compact for a space-efficient design and near-seamless viewing in multi-panel configurations. The stand has a height adjustment range of 50 mm. The panel can be removed from the stand for mounting on a flexible arm in accordance with VESA mounting standards.

The FlexScan M1700 comes with several image and color control features. The front button operated Fine Contrast function allows the user to set the appropriate screen parameters for almost any application or file type including text based documents, DVDs, and web browsing. Fine Contrast consists of five modes: Text, Picture, Movie, Custom, and sRGB. Each mode has default settings for such parameters as brightness and color temperature which can be further adjusted in the ScreenManager® OSD menu. Other color parameters that can be adjusted on the OSD menu include gain, hue, and saturation.

The FlexScan M1700 complies with some of the strictest standards for office equipment including TCO’03 (gray cabinet only; black cabinet is TCO’99 compliant) and TÜV Rheinland/Ergonomics. It also carries the EIZO Eco Products 2004 in-house label signifying that it meets several strict internal requirements such as the use of lead-free solder and chrome-free steel plates, and that the user’s manual is made with chlorine-free, recyclable paper.

EIZO stands behind the workmanship of the FlexScan M1700 with an industry leading five year warranty.
The warranty is based on a usage time of maximum 30,000 hours.

Availability
The FlexScan M1700 will begin shipping in September and will be available through EIZO’s network of distributors. The cabinet comes in a choice of grey and black.
